• Description: Sold by Tuffy, the Cargo Area Security Enclosure creates a large and lockable storage area. The lid secures shut using Tuffy's patented security system working in conjunction with the vehicle's locking tailgate. The lid easily hinges open and can be held up using an attached support rod. The lid, vertical front and side panels can be easily removed without tools so larger items can be transported when required. The entire enclosure is constructed using welded 16 gauge steel, heavy duty fasteners, and covered with a durable textured powdercoat finish. It does not rely on the wheel well to create an enclosed space adding an additional level of security. The vehicle power lock switches on the tailgate become disabled after approximately 16 seconds when locking the doors with the key fob so the enclosure remains secured. The patented design, quickly and easily installs to the vehicle floor with standard hand tools in the four-door model with and without an OEM hardtop. The large storage area is secured shut when the rear swingate is locked. The enclosure creates over 20,000 cubic inches of lockable storage space. Welded steel lid easily hinges open for access when the rear swingate is opened using Tuffy's patented security system. The lid can be removed easily without tools. Works with the OEM storage cover. Includes all required mounting hardware and does not require drilling. Includes built-in weather seals. This enclosure will not work with the Jeep Wrangler 4xe model. Works with or without OEM hard or soft top. NOTE: For use with two-door Jeep Wrangler back seat must be removed. Does not work with the OEM optional Alpine rear Speaker. Mounting brackets are fastened to existing OEM mounting points in the vehicle floor. Designed to fit Jeep Wrangler (JL).
